Required:
You will need at least one witness, the person performing the ceremony does
not qualify.
Adults 18 or older do not need consent to married in Nevada. Proof of age will
be required up to age 21.
Ages 16 and 17: Consent must be given by either a parent or guardian in person at the time
the license is applied for;
Or
Consent is given via a notarized affidavit signed by a parent. The affidavit
of consent must contain the minor's birthdate and specify the relationship
of the person giving consent (parent or guardian). The affidavit must
also be written in English.
A person under the age of 16 can only get married if they have the consent of
a parent or legal guardian and the authorization from a Nevada District
Court.
If a person was previously divorced, the date, city and state where the decree was
granted must be provided and the divorce must be final.
Couples who reside outside the U.S. must provide proof of their birthdate (a
passport) in order to obtain a marriage license.
Not Required:
Blood tests, and there is no waiting period.
